Editorial Policy
This page explains how Gladewick guides are researched, written, checked and kept up to date, what sources we trust, how we use AI tools, and how we keep money away from our editorial decisions.
Gladewick writes for homeowners and renters in the United States who are dealing with pests, mold, water damage and the repairs that follow. Those are often urgent, costly and sometimes dangerous problems, so accuracy and safety come before everything else we publish.
Who creates our guides
Gladewick is owned and operated by KCS Global Group (KCS Groups), a digital publishing company based in Durg, Chhattisgarh, India. Our team of seven works across three roles, and no guide is published by one person alone.
Researchers
Find and read the primary sources for each topic and build a research brief of facts, figures and safety thresholds.
Writers
Turn the research into a clear, practical guide that answers the reader’s real question.
Editors
Check every fact against its source, review safety guidance and approve the guide for publication.
Sameer Patel, Founder & Editor of KCS Global Group, sets these standards and is accountable for how they’re applied. We are not licensed contractors, electricians, pest control operators or inspectors, and we never present ourselves as such. Where a guide draws on hands-on experience or input from a qualified professional, it says so and names the source.
How a guide is made
Choose the question
We start from what homeowners actually need to decide: is this dangerous, can I fix it myself, what will it cost, and when do I need a professional.
Research primary sources
A researcher gathers guidance from the sources described below and records where each fact comes from.
Draft the guide
A writer drafts the guide from the research brief. AI tools may help at this stage, as explained below.
Fact-check every claim
An editor checks each fact, figure, cost and safety threshold against its source. Anything that can’t be verified is removed.
Review for safety and clarity
The editor confirms the guide says clearly when a job needs a professional, follows product-label requirements and is easy to act on.
Publish with sources and dates
We link to our sources within the guide and show when it was published and last updated.
The sources we trust, in order
Our team works from India and writes for US readers, so we build our guides on US sources. When sources disagree, we follow the higher tier and explain the difference where it matters.
- Tier 1
- Tier 2
Universities and research
University extension services, the National Pesticide Information Center and peer-reviewed research.
- Tier 3
Manufacturers and labels
Product labels, instructions, safety data sheets, specifications and EPA registration numbers for pesticides and disinfectants.
- Tier 4
Industry and cost data
Trade associations, published cost surveys and reputable industry sources, used mainly for pricing and typical practice.
What we don’t rely on
- Other blogs or content sites as a source of facts.
- Forums and social media, except to understand what questions readers are asking.
- Any claim we can’t trace to a source.
How we use AI tools
We believe you should know how our guides are made, including the role of AI. We use AI tools to assist our team, and people remain responsible for everything we publish.
We may use AI to
- Organize research notes.
- Suggest outlines and structure.
- Produce early drafts from our research brief.
- Check grammar and readability.
We never use AI to
- Publish any fact or figure without a person checking it against a source.
- Decide what we recommend.
- Invent experiences, testing, quotes, experts or reviews.
- Replace the editor’s final review.
Product recommendations and independence
When a guide mentions products, we choose them based on whether they fit the specific problem, what the label and manufacturer instructions say, EPA registration where it applies, and patterns in verified-buyer feedback. Unless a guide says otherwise, our team has not personally tested the products we mention.
We earn affiliate commissions from some product links, and we may show ads. Neither affects what we write. Advertisers and affiliate partners don’t review, approve or change our guides, and we don’t sell places in our recommendations. Any sponsored content is clearly labeled at the top of the page. Read our Affiliate Disclosure and our Advertise page for details.
Safety and cost standards
Safety
Every guide states plainly when a job calls for a licensed professional, such as mold covering more than about 10 square feet, damaged electrical wiring, heavy infestations or sewage and flood damage. We never suggest using a product in a way its label doesn’t allow. Our Disclaimer explains the limits of our guidance.
Costs
Cost figures are estimates drawn from sources available at the time of writing. We present them as ranges, explain what drives the price up or down, and update them when we review a guide.
Keeping guides current and correcting mistakes
We review published guides when official guidance, products or prices change, and every guide shows its last-updated date. When we find an error, or a reader reports one, we fix it and note significant corrections on the article under our Corrections Policy.
Questions about our standards
We handle all conversations by email. You can learn more about our team on our About Us page, and find our office address on our Contact Us page.
