Privacy Policy

Gladewick is a reading site. You don’t need an account, there are no forms, and we collect as little personal information as we can. This policy explains what we do collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.

Gladewick (gladewick.com) is owned and operated by KCS Global Group (legal name KCS Groups), a digital publishing company based in Durg, Chhattisgarh, India. We write for readers in the United States. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean KCS Global Group.

2.Emails and comments

We handle all conversations by email, so when you write to us we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and your message. We use it only to respond and to keep a record of the conversation.

If you leave a comment, we store the details you enter along with your IP address and browser information, which helps us detect spam. Comments may be held for moderation. Your name, website and comment text appear publicly once approved; your email address is never published. If our site shows profile pictures next to comments, an anonymized string created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture there.

3.How we use information

  • To reply to your emails and handle corrections, privacy and support requests.
  • To publish and moderate comments.
  • To keep the site running, secure and protected from spam and attacks.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which guides are useful and what needs updating.
  • To show and measure ads, when ads are shown.
  • To meet legal obligations and protect our rights.

For visitors in the European Economic Area and the UK, we rely on these legal bases: your consent (for non-essential cookies such as advertising), our legitimate interests in running and improving the site, and compliance with legal obligations.

4.Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies for security, site functions, analytics and, when ads are shown, advertising. Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie by name, with its purpose and how long it lasts.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see, in aggregate, how visitors use Gladewick. We don’t use it to identify individual readers.

Advertising

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to Gladewick or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits. You can learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, and you can turn off personalized ads in My Ad Center.

Affiliate links

When you click a product link to Amazon, Amazon records that the visit came from Gladewick so it can pay us a commission. Amazon’s handling of your data is governed by Amazon’s own privacy notice. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

5.Who we share information with

We don’t sell your personal information for money. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us run the site, such as our web host, our security and content delivery provider (Cloudflare), our email provider and our analytics provider. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
  • Advertising partners, such as Google, when ads are shown, as described in section 4.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect the rights, property or safety of our readers, our team or others.
  • A future owner, if Gladewick or KCS Global Group is sold or restructured, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.

Under some US state privacy laws, allowing advertising cookies on our site may count as “selling” or “sharing” personal information, or as “targeted advertising”, even though no money changes hands for your data. You can opt out as described in section 6.

6.Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We’ll honor them wherever the law requires.

US state residents

Residents of states with privacy laws, such as California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and others, may have the right to:

  • Know and access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising.
  • Appeal our decision on a request.
  • Exercise these rights without being treated differently.

Where required by law, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising.

EEA, UK and other regions

If you’re in the European Economic Area, the UK or another region with similar laws, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct or delete your personal information.
  • Object to or restrict how we use it.
  • Receive a copy in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, for example to advertising cookies.
  • Complain to your local data protection authority.

We also handle personal information in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

7.How to make a request

Email support@gladewick.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. Tell us which right you want to use and the email address you’ve used to contact us or comment on the site.

We may ask for information to confirm your identity before acting on a request, so we don’t hand someone else’s information to the wrong person. An authorized agent can make a request on your behalf with proof that you’ve given them permission. We’ll respond within the time required by the law that applies to you.

If we decline your request, we’ll explain why. To appeal, reply to our decision with “Appeal” in the subject line and we’ll review it again.

8.Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as we need it. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request and keep a reasonable record. Comments and their details are kept while the comment remains published. Technical logs held by our hosting and security providers are deleted on those providers’ own schedules.

We protect information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), security filtering through Cloudflare and access limited to team members who need it. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, but we work to protect what we hold.

9.International transfers

Our team is based in India, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using Gladewick or emailing us, your information may be transferred to and handled in countries whose privacy laws differ from yours. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

10.Children’s privacy

Gladewick is written for adults dealing with home problems. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email support@gladewick.com and we’ll delete it.

11.Links to other sites

Our guides link to government agencies, manufacturers and retailers. Once you leave Gladewick, the other site’s privacy policy applies, not ours. We’re not responsible for how those sites handle your information.

12.Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our practices, tools or the law change. The date at the bottom of this page shows when it was last revised. For significant changes, we’ll add a note at the top of this page.

We handle all conversations by email.
